Protest of Secret Police in Chicago - July 20th, 2020

Protesting vigorously for Black Lives Matter, and loudly against the recent federal secret police initiative of President Trump, a determined group of demonstrators met in Federal Plaza on Monday evening and, after a short and sparsely attended rally, conducted a marathon march through downtown Chicago, up and down Michigan Avenue, stopping traffic at key intersections and bridges on multiple occasions, and clashing several times with the police bicycle squad escorting them through the busy streets. Having picked up protestors along the way, the group of a couple hundred finally made their way to the contentious statue of Christopher Columbus at Roosevelt Road where they joined demonstrators already there, and found more police in riot gear lined up to protect the draped monument.
